Autumn Gardens

A ‘season of mists and mellow fruitfulness’ (John Keats, Ode To Autumn).

The arrival of autumn gives a second life to gardens, bringing with it a burst of fiery colour as lush greens are replaced with a vivid palette of reds, burnt oranges and yellows. Maples, liquidambers, hydrangeas and perennial grasses come into their own, providing spectacular autumn scenery for all to enjoy. A selection of our gardens continue to open throughout late September and October, and we encourage you to visit one or more of them, as you’ll be treated to a completely different garden experience. Many gardens hold special autumnal activities during their opening at this time of year, such as woodland walks, apple days, wildlife trails and Halloween nights, so there’s something for everyone to see and do.

There’s nothing quite like wrapping up in a coat and scarf, and heading out on a garden adventure on a crisp autumn day.  To find a garden open near you, simply follow this link to browse our autumn selection.
