Collections of hostas, succulents, carnivorous plants, alpines, hardy bromeliads and coleus are on display in appropriate seasons outdoors and in greenhouses. This is a beautiful, and interesting traditional country garden with wonderful views over the Essex countryside. A pergola with roses, clematis and wisteria leads into a woodland walk and pond surrounded by herbaceous borders and sculpture. A path through the wildlife meadow takes you into the orchard and a small holding with pigs and sheep, ending at the kitchen garden and cut flower beds. Opens Sunday 18th June.
Hidden behind an C18 cottage, a beautiful, tranquil cottage garden brimming with interesting plants and shrubs. Pergolas and arches are bedecked with roses, clematis and climbers inc a grapevine. The garden features a wildlife pond. The ivy-clad well displays one of the many garden sculptures to delight the visitor. Grasses and succulents capture the eye. Opens Sunday 18th June.
Pear Trees is a south facing garden nearly ½ acre with open views across farmland to Rowney Woods. Front garden has mixed fruit trees underplanted with spring bulbs. Rear garden features mature oak tree and many other trees. A garden allotment boasts a wide range of soft fruit and seasonal vegetables. Opens Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June.
A thatched cottage garden with many varieties of old and David Austin roses interplanted with a wide range of perennials. Several pathways through arches, weave through the garden taking you past a gazebo, a summerhouse and a bridged pond. Raised brick beds host a variety of common and unusual plants. Opens Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th June.
