Garden Closures in the North of England

News Update – July 31, 2020
Following the Government’s latest announcement changing the rules on gatherings in Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and East Lancashire after an increase in COVID-19 cases, National Garden Scheme gardens in the affected areas will be closed to visitors until further notice.
Commenting on the recent changes, Chairman of the National Garden Scheme, Martin McMillan said: “Ensuring the safety of our visitors and garden owners at this time is paramount. Therefore, we are closing all National Garden Scheme gardens in the affected areas and providing refunds to visitors who have pre-booked tickets. If anyone is unsure we are happy to assist.”
Any garden-related enquiries should be sent to hello@ngs.org.uk or you can call 01483 211535 in office hours.
The areas that these changes apply to are:
- The Greater Manchester area
- Pendle
- Hyndburn
- Burnley
- Rossendale
- Blackburn with Darwen
- Bradford
- Calderdale
- Kirklees
- Leicester City
It means people in these areas will not be permitted to mix with other households (apart from those in their support bubbles) in private homes or gardens.
