Harlands Gardens Trail; an eclectic mix of everyday inspiration

This eclectic mix of town gardens in Haywards Heath, West Sussex designed, built and maintained by busy people continue to inspire and delight visitors. Pick up ideas and enjoy this virtual tour with the garden owners as they walk you through their lovely, ever-evolving spaces.

A closer look

“We comprise awkward shapes and differing gradients, designed with relaxation and socialisation in mind,” says Karen van den Dolder of 55 Penland Road. “Our gardens offer rich cottage-style planting schemes, varied ponds, pretty courtyards, practical kitchen gardens and habitats for wildlife.”

If you are looking for everyday inspiration for your garden look no further than this collection of West Sussex gardens on the Harlands Garden Trail. Look out for interesting pots and carnivorous plants! In happier times home-made cakes are always a joy including an outstanding contribution from a ‘Bake-off’ contestant and there are plants for sale too.
