Picture postcard perfect – gorgeous gardens to visit this August

August can be a great time to visit a garden. With the hoards abroad and the children or grandchildren in tow, garden visits can provide the perfect holiday treat whether you’re staying at home or visiting another part of the UK. Children go free at most of National Garden Scheme gardens and there is always the wonderful lure of refreshments, usually homemade tea and cakes, to make your visit extra special. What’s more, your visit helps support some of the UK’s best-loved nursing and health charities.
In no particular order of loveliness or date here are some of our favourites – click on the garden name for more details.
