About 6 Plantation Rise

Winner of the Daily Mail National Garden Competition

You might be amazed when you step through the garden gate – be prepared for a very pleasant surprise!

Nigel has landscaped the garden to give the appearance of a much larger space, with clever use made of evergreen shrubs, azaleas, rhododendrons and acers, which enclose our 70’ x 80’ garden. This enhances the flower decked pergolas, folly and summerhouse, which overlooks the pond. Walkways surround the outside of the garden to enable easy access for pruning and the garden is designed so that it looks good throughout the year. Planting includes 9 ‘Tristis’ silver birches, which are semi pendula, plus a lovely combination of primroses, anemones and daffodils in Spring and a profusion of roses, clematis and perennials.

We love opening our garden for you, and will open on request from March to September, for 6 to 20 people. We do have some indoor seating, if the weather is less than lovely, and both conservatories offer views of the garden. There are so many ideas to take home into your own garden, we really look forward to seeing you, so call us now and help us celebrate over 20 years of opening for the NGS.

We have been in many publications, including local press and on radio.

There are some steps in the garden, WC available on request.

Please park in The Plantation – it’s just a short walk to 6 Plantation Rise (drop off available).
