Esk Bank

Nestled in Eskdale, the ¾ acre cottage style garden is on a south-facing slope with 360 panoramic views of the valley. There is a mix of perennial beds and herbaceous borders with many roses and shrubs inc rhododendrons, magnolia and azaleas. There is a summerhouse and a large kitchen garden with a greenhouse. The sloping lawns have an orchard, wildflower borders and a small pond.

About Esk Bank

The beautiful, peaceful Eskdale valley has many lovely walks to enjoy. Why not visit the garden by train? The Ravenglass & Eskdale railway is one of the oldest narrow gauge railways in England and is known affectionately as ‘La’al Ratty’. The 7-mile line runs between Ravenglass & Dalegarth, there is ample parking here and you can get off at ‘The Green’ to visit the garden.

Directions to Esk Bank
Take the A595 to Holmrook, turn off on the rd to Eskdale Green. Park at the Green Station. By train to Ravenglass for Eskdale, then take La'al Ratty steam train to the Green Station.

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from June to 1 September for groups of between 10 and 30.
