About Greenwood House
Best described as a cottage garden, although the planting is quite eclectic.
The front garden is north facing but gets plenty of sun in the summer, so we have added ornamental grasses and other drought tolerant perennials.
The south facing rear garden benefits from some dappled shade provided by the wood and provides a welcome contrast. It also ensures we have a steady supply of visiting slugs and snails! These in turn have encouraged the arrival of frogs. Squirrels regularly appear from the wood and most recently a fox has also become a visitor.
The soil is naturally slightly acidic which ensures that rhododendrons thrive.
