1½ acre garden in lovely downland position. Unusual trees and shrubs growing in dry gravel, briefly wet most yrs when the Winterbourne rises and flows through the garden. Coloured stems, catkins, drifts of snowdrops and crocuses. Small collection of special snowdrops.

About Mitchmere Farm

A garden encouraging wildlife with meadows large and small. A large pond with frogs, toads and is home to many other insects as well as being visited by grass snakes! A large area of Frittilaries in the orchard in April, roses and clematis in the summer with many other flowering shrubs all through the year

Min charge £60 = £5 a head for 12, more per head for a small group.

Optional 10 min walk down the long field beside the river, across the sleeper bridge, take the path through the copse with snowdrops up the steps into the new wood, then into the meadow and back to the garden. Wellies advisable. Dogs on short leads.

Turn off the B2146 at Walderton towards Stoughton. Farm is ¾m on L, ¼m beyond the turning to Upmarden. Please do not park on verge, follow signs for parking.

This garden opens for By Arrangement visits from February to November.
