Approaching two thirds of an acre, the south facing garden has curved gravel pathways around an S-shaped lawn that connects themed areas: exotic border at its best in the Autumn with dahlias, cannas and miscanthus; summer walk full of roses, clematis and peonies; acers in the woodland which produce an amazing palette of colours in late Autumn; oriental pond; winter garden full of birch trees; spring garden with rhododendrons and azaleas. On a level site, it has been densely planted with trees, shrubs, perennials and bulbs for year-round interest. Plenty of places to sit, many in the shade.
