About The Old Vicarage
The house, an ‘orange beacon’, is a local landmark in this little-known part of beautiful Monmouthshire. It is surrounded by its garden, with many different areas to explore, from the drive, lined with azaleas, camellias, magnolias and hellebores, to a charming courtyard, gravel garden and gazebo, kitchen garden lined with box hedges, sweeping lawns, and borders punctuated with neatly clipped box features. The wonderful views can be enjoyed from a variety of benches, and there are wildlife areas and a meadow (fourth year).
Easter is early this year, so this is an opportunity to see more of the early spring flowers, such as aconites, snowdrops, cyclamen, narcissi and hellebores. These are usually over by the time most gardens open.
