About 1 Elses Cottages

We are looking forward to welcoming you to our garden and hope you will get as much pleasure from it as we do. Our garden is all about the rural location and experience rather than the planting, although we have lots of well stocked borders and planting to see. Opening onto fields, we have created the garden from scratch over the last 30 plus years. We wouldn’t describe ourselves as expert gardeners, more try it and see what works. We look upon ourselves as custodians of a beautiful, relaxing space that we want to share.

The garden includes a large well stocked fish pond, wildlife friendly kitchen garden and newly planted wildflower meadow area. Embracing our creative side you will find sometimes obvious but also hidden, quirky elements within the garden. We have a good selection of hostas, colourful patio pot plants, grasses, fruit trees, bug hotels and plenty more.

We welcome you to wander, explore or just sit with a cuppa and a slice of cake relax and enjoy the atmosphere and if you’re lucky you’ll see a Spitfire or two overhead.
