59 Birmingham Road

Situated in the middle of a small mining village. The cottage garden was restructured during 2019 from a long narrow garden at the side to a wrap around square garden, with the associated challenges of moving and protecting mature plants. The success of this is evident with a lovely walled garden showcasing acers, lavatera, clematis, honeysuckle, bamboo and decorative grasses.

About 59 Birmingham Road

This garden has been extensively remodelled following adjacent building works which has changed the overall shape from long and thin to a squarer, walled garden. The owners have done a remarkable job of re-locating mature plants and shrubs and protecting well-loved plants. The garden is now a beautiful blend of sandstone patio, borders edged with reclaimed bricks, borders of mixed shrubs and perennials including philadelpus, clematis, honeysuckle, wisterias and roses.
