About 59 East Street

Part of an old walled garden, mostly replanted in the last three years, and still developing. A lavender walk lined with espaliered apples and pears leads to a fountain. The tall south facing wall supports cordoned apples, a fig, peach cage, greenhouse, and grotto. A modern but established box parterre divides the garden. Recent planting includes an exotic area, a small Mediterranean garden, and an attempt to create a black and white lace garden. Wide range of perennials, shrubs, roses, grasses and bamboo with some unusual plants, many of them in pots.
