About 61 Wolsey Road
From the house there is a kitchen courtyard which leads to a brick path cutting diagonally across the garden with lawn to one side and planting to the other.
The middle third of the garden has a very large, deep-shade area, once under two 150 year old copper beech trees but sadly one had to be removed this year (2024). Many of the shade-loving plants needed to be moved and replaced with others….the garden in this area is now very different. The remaining tree offers shade to a variety of large and small ferns. A path through a sunken garden leads up to the large oak gazebo, while the central path leads to an arch and on to the sunny part of the garden.
This final third of the garden has a large pond and stream surrounded by planting and patio and an oak summerhouse. There is additional extensive planting along both sides and to the rear wall.
The garden provides a number of seating areas to sit and enjoy the sun (or shade), a cup of tea or coffee and cake.
