About Ashbourne Road and District Allotments

This tranquil allotment site is situated on the outskirts of Derby city centre and boasts an array of plots of differing sizes which will overload your senses with new and vibrant ideas about ‘growing your own!’
The grass pathways will lead you round the 9 acre community site taking you past the Growing Academy (created to support the Starter Plot tenants) before passing the giant cockerel and onward to the bus shelters.
Onward to the 6 Starter Plots. The plots will demonstrate what can be grown on a small patch of earth with the right support, environment and know-how.
Continuing along the pathways you will pass the bee hives and recycling area before you muse at plots which are quirky, amusing and beautifully tended, where the plot holders have created allotment gardens with flowers, fruit and vegetables that even Enid Blyton would be proud of!
Venture with care onto the plots which are signposted ‘open for closer inspection’ before you arrive over at the bunting-filled Community Room open for delights for even the most discerning of tastes.
