About Backswood Farm

The owners of Backswood Farm have set out to make a garden that provides as much bio-diversity as possible within a 2 acre plot. Over a 7 year period, local stone has been quarried from the farm to build many features within the garden including a Moon gate, a Stoat house and a Bat wall. Oak harvested from the 150 acre woodland has been used to build structures and reclaimed building materials have also been used to produce a natural feel to individual areas. Mixed native trees are dotted around the wildflower meadow that is alive with insects and wildlife. Year on year many new features are being added to maximise the value of the garden to native wildlife. Dogs on leads please.
