About Beck House
The owners have renovated the garden themselves since moving in, creating new borders, replanting large areas across the plot and building large pergolas within part of the existing yew hedges which originally completely dissected the garden. This has improved flow around the plot and provides additional height and perspective.
Different areas of the garden have been individually planted in themes to suit each aspect and provide changes in mood, from tropical & Mediterranean, modern with minimal colour palettes, to shady woodland, oriental-inspired, kitchen garden and cottage-style planted borders. The gardens continue to evolve year on year with additions to planting and the structures.
There is also a good range of specimen and fruit trees planted in the lawns. The mix of planting overall provides a mass of colour, form and interest throughout each season.
The garden is easily accessible, other than the pond area, as the garden is mainly level with countryside views all around and the gentle burbling of water from the streams running along each side of the plot. There is also a brick built structure which houses an old disused well in the front garden.
