About Brick Kiln Cottage

This garden was created by Barbara Jeremiah, a Liveryman of the Worshipful Company of Gardeners, using the natural landscape left in the Old Brick Works to develop a series of unique features in harmony with the peacefulness of an old English wood.

We use eco friendly measures to look after the woodland and the garden. We save water, use no pesticides, mulch and chip against weeds, make our own compost, use eco methods against slugs and use the available wood on paths and seats.

The bird song is lovely, owls, buzzards, cuckoos, woodpeckers love the habitat, also there are visiting badgers, pheasants, partridges and deer and a peacock has taken up residence.

Home-made teas include home-made cakes, sandwiches, home-made lemonade and endless pots of tea.

The garden is maintained using eco-friendly methods as a haven for wild animals, butterflies, birds, bees and English bluebells. Children's reading area. Wildlife friendly garden in a former brick works. A haven in the trees. Gallery of textiles.
