About Chaleshurst

A large garden with a variety of interest for those who wish to experience the magic of the many trees planted by the Victorians, whose considerate foresight makes up the main infrastructure, including the layout of the lawns. The current owners have added to this many of their own ideas for planting, as well as various features, some quite quirky, in order to create a family home. In the process of bringing back to life the neglected garden they took on 25 years ago, this includes an innovative renovation of the original glasshouse complex built in 1904 which was a ruin and is now very much in use as part of the enjoyment of their home. It is also a space hired out for occasional events and is therefore ideal as a place to enjoy tea and cake on the day.
