About Chauffeur's Flat
Seen through recycling artistic eyes
Sound, shapes, scents, different colours
Texture sculptures old and new
With desire lines guiding you through,
Discovering private enclaves.
Wisteria clad arbours and arches.
Both evergreen and deciduous plants
With flowers of many hues.
The garden opens up
Taking in a wonderful panoramic Ashdown Forest view.
You can laugh at the Ha-Ha
But do take care
There’s a great drop
Just over there.
Keep to the paths and via the steps.
A Cinderella Arbour you will see
Wander on then Up,Up,Up into a tree.
Glance across to the Haunted House
And down at me.
Forward past the acer
A bridge I spy
And even deeper drop,
Then cast your eye
Across the wider horizon
Nestled in the bottom foreground,
Among the pattern of the garden.
A pond framed by a lily pad, metallic petals
Comfortably settles.
The meadow is a picture
A pattern is mown though
With buttercups and grasses
And plantings of trees too.
The garden is rewilding
As only wildlife know how.
Crocus and Roses are a great favourite of deer,
Badgers and foxes favour the mulberries
All enjoying the food we provide I fear.
The bats, birds and insects feast.
On a varied diet, for the little beasts.
Clear out the knackered plants
And in with the new
Gardening always moves on,
This is what we do.
