About Cilbronnau Mansion
A 2.5 acre garden that is being brought back to life after decades of neglect. It is a quiet, tranquil space that provides interest for much of the year and is a magnet for pollinators and other wildlife.
Some trees date back to earlier times in the garden’s history, including the avenue of 14 yews that frame the middle garden, rhododendrons, Japanese maples, ancient oaks and 2 giant sequoia. Recent additions include Ginko, Purple Beech and Judas trees.
The garden continues to evolve and individual areas are at various stages of development. It now features a courtyard cottage garden, mediterranean and gravel gardens, vegetable plots, lawns, a rose tunnel and willow arch and beds and borders that contain a wide range of shrubs, perennial and annual plants.
Wild daffodils, snow drops, blue bells and fox gloves provide early spring colour and interest continues throughout the summer and into autumn and winter when dogwood, witch hazel and hellebores take the lead.
