About Devonshire Mill

In early spring the garden features long established drifts of double snow drops (principally Galanthus flore pleno) growing in two old orchards and with hellebores and ferns in a woodland setting.
The two acre garden surrounds the house which is a 200 year old Grade II listed watermill (not open). It is an intimate garden, with many different areas, structured on an old layout with a mill stream running along the length. Over the last 30 years the owners have developed the garden on organic principles to encourage wild life.
There are also productive vegetable gardens with raised beds, polytunnel, greenhouses, and hen run and well-stocked herbaceous borders.
