About Fell Yeat

The garden at Fell Yeat is 400 ft above sea level in the lovely Lune Valley in Cumbria. It has been developed over 35 years and is constantly evolving. A developing wood is becoming the dominant feature as the trees have matured, and we have now established a small meadow with orchids. An increasing emphasis has been put on creating wildlife habitats and attracting birds of prey. There is a large collection of hydrangeas, at their best in late summer, and ferns are playing an increasing role in the planting, with a dedicated fern garden, stumpery and a new grotto house. It is a garden to relax in and explore at leisure, with a number of arbours and seats where you can sit and relax or enjoy the views of the Lune Valley. Metal sculptures enhance the picture.
There is an adjoining nursery specialising in ferns, hostas, hydrangeas and many unusual plants. Visitors welcome to the nursery Thursday to Sunday.
