Ffynnon Las

A two acre garden that has been in the making for over 15 years, Ffynnonlas is a beautiful area that delivers on many different aspects of gardening. There are large lawns, several beds of mature shrubs and flowers. A small lake and two smaller ponds that are separated by a Monet style bridge with lilies. There is a wildflower meadow, a work in progress that has spectacular wild orchids in spring.

About Ffynnon Las

A beautiful haven just 1 mile out of Aberaeron. Ffynnonlas was bought by the Roberts family in 1997. To begin with we sorted out the house which was in dire need of refurbishment.

During 2000 we dug out a lake in front of the house and during the next 3 years planted a long 45 m border which was planted with shrubs initially. In 2005 we built a conservatory to the south side of the house which led to us taking down the fence bordering the field, digging out a patio and establishing a rockery as the retaining wall. A water feature was also constructed.
Half of the field was then put down to lawn and more ponds. Beyond the ponds is a wild area that over the years has established wild orchids and other wildflowers.
When we purchased Ffynnonlas there was a large swimming pool in the back garden. It was so ugly and dominant that we demolished it and over the years have made a vegetable patch with raised beds.
There is also an orchard with apple, plum and pear trees.
