About Glanoer
A garden within an alder valley with many terraces, a stream and ponds. 750ft above sea level on boulder clay. Numerous ‘rooms’ throughout the garden providing seating, vistas and points of interest.
The garden includes an allotment, bluebell wood, wildlife garden and secret garden. The vegetable garden with polytunnel provides a fabulous array of homegrown produce throughout the season and also cut flowers for the house, including award-winning dahlias and gladioli.
Bluebell woodland garden with quirky features. Orchard and many fruit trees throughout rest of garden. Glanoer Brook runs throughout the grounds with two bridges giving access to open fields. Honeysuckle pergola. Wildlife pond with magnificent waterlilies, wild flowers and abundant wildlife. Secret Garden designed for quiet reflection. Summerhouse with rose hedging, terrace and extensive views.
The garden is planted for colour through the seasons and pollination for the resident bees, it includes over 80 varieties of rose. A comparatively young garden that has been evolving since 2015 from open space and home to free ranging chickens. As the garden is undulating throughout it is quite steep in parts and care is required (stout shoes) consequently regretfully unsuitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs.
Free-range chickens, beehives, allotment, terraces.
