About Grace & Flavour Community Garden

Through the hard work of its many members, Grace & Flavour has grown into a fine, productive, no-dig, herbicide- and pesticide-free garden; a real asset to the local community. The garden includes a large communal area and 28 allotments. Members of the communal area work as few or as many hours as they want, under the guidance of our extremely knowledgeable and supportive Head Gardener, and team. Members buy fresh vegetables and other excellent produce at discounted rates according to the hours they work. Some produce is also made available for sale to the public.

We ‘tithe’ fresh vegetables free of charge to selected local residents each summer.

We have established a collection of apples, pears and soft fruits, rebuilt a derelict greenhouse into a facility known as the Potting Shed, conserved the garden’s boundary walls, cultivated beautiful flower beds for cut flowers and established several wildlife friendly features including a pond.

The allotments are managed on behalf of the two Parish Councils. Although the communal garden runs on near organic principles, the allotments do not have such guidelines.

The garden has previously featured in local magazines, guides and local farmers’ market events.

Refreshments: Tea, coffee and cold drinks. Home-made cake is a great Grace & Flavour tradition and will be available in limited quantities. Plants offered for sale.
