About Hightown Gardens

Hightown is situated on the edge of the River Mersey with views across to the Welsh Hills. The surrounding land is cultivated farmland. Most of the village is built on previous sand hills so the soil is very sandy and poor – great for seedlings, hard for established plants to find nutrient.
The 3 gardens are an interesting collection, close together and it is an easy drive/walk around the village. They are all quite different and have cottage garden plants as well as more tropical varieties. Blossom and quirkiness are both present.

Sandhills is now a quirky Airbnb property.
