Hilltop

After 35+ yrs we are removing overgrown shrubs and pruning hard to maximise the views. The planting is varied based on if the plant likes the position, it will do well. However, we may have badger visitors which can cause chaos, but we coexist with them happily. The garden is largely organic and constantly enriched by our own compost. Due to its location the design is dictated by the site.

About Hilltop

The garden now benefits from a large garden room giving completeness to the one side of the rear terrace which still has a raised pond and copper water feature. This means more space to house some rather unusual plants including a Japanese citrus tree.

The sad loss of a number of old apple trees and a large willow have brought more light into the garden. Happily a semi mature oak now sensitively shaped with removal of dead wood has become more prominent in consequence and the side and rear parts of the garden are now linked with vistas each end and a developing hostas walk.

The plating theme continues in shades of pinks blues and white.
