About Holly Cottage
Holly Cottage is a Grade 2 listed English country cottage dating from the 18th century. The cottage garden comprises of three small areas of garden set on a gentle slope, two which have been recently redesigned. The front walled garden was redeveloped in 2023 and comprises of borders, raised beds, gravel paths and seating area. Newly planted with holly trees and climbing roses and packed with spring bulbs and a mix of old and new perennials for colour throughout the seasons, the garden will be expanded further as the planting becomes established and matures over time. The second garden is a south westerly facing terraced garden set behind a red brick wall. Re-landscaped in 2021, the garden was designed with entertaining and low maintenance in mind and has a stone patio area with steps to a small terraced area with seating, raised beds and water feature. Planting was designed to attract birds, bees and butterflies as well as for colour and aroma. This small area is planted with rose hedging, fruit trees and lavender along with spring bulbs and plenty of planters and pots for all year colour. Planning is underway for the third garden which will be redeveloped in 2024.
