About Ichi-Coo Park
My garden is a kind of metaphor for my life. It’s about taking what you have and not only making the most of it, but of facing up to and overcoming the challenges until all around you is flourishing. In the midst of difficulty lies opportunity.
It’s a work never complete. Plants and trees share much in common with people. We are all part of nature, of life on earth and we share the same energy, we need the same nourishment, we suffer the same challenges to our health.
This hill of mine is made of ancient Wealden Clay, the heavy yellow kind, over oil-bearing shale, the rocky, stony kind. My trees and plants are given two choices,”Thrive or not,’. Unsurprisingly, the vast majority choose to thrive – and delight!
Featuring the World’s longest hypericum serpent; the highest jungle in Surrey; probably the largest garden plantation of eucalyptus in the UK. Many rare and unusual evergreen trees. Visit the Lake District, walk amongst exotic planting in the Grand Canyon to the Sea of Tranquillity. Bring a golf club and a picnic, you’re more than welcome. Did I mention, it’s a plane spotters’ paradise.
Every aspect of the garden is designed to be fun, especially for children but we’re all young at heart. It is tongue-in-cheek, it’s not to be taken too seriously, I’m not that kind of gardener. It is made for sharing and I really hope you enjoy it, half as much as I do every single day.
