‘John’s Garden’ at Ashwood Nurseries is the private garden of renowned nursery owner John Massey VMH. A ‘plantsman’s garden’, it has a huge plant collection and many innovative design features in a beautiful canal-side setting. There are informal beds, woodland dells, herbaceous borders, a stunning rock garden, a unique ruin garden, an Anemone pavonina meadow and a wildlife garden.
Fine displays of snowdrops and other bulbs, spring-flowering plants including hepaticas, together with a notable collection of conifers, Malus and Hamamelis.
Autumns arrival brings wonderful colour from the many trees, shrubs and autumn flowering cyclamen and colchicums.
There is a Tea Room, Garden Centre and Gift Shop at adjacent Ashwood Nurseries. Disabled access to the garden is difficult when wet.
