Manor House

Originally part of the grounds of a C17 farmhouse, the current walled gardens of ⅓ acre stretch between Church Way and Mill Lane on a gently sloping site. We bought the property in October 2023, and aim to restore and modernise the gardens to inc fruit orchard and wall fans; reinstatement of Victorian greenhouse; wildflower meadow; formal terraced vegetable garden; ponds and streams.

About Manor House

We view the garden as a work in progress, aiming to realise an updated design over the next five years or so. The next year should see the restoration, using as many existing perennials as possible, of the existing long south-facing herbaceous walk with new fan-trained fruit trees; the seeding of a wildflower meadow with new orchard; two large ponds with connecting stream; the terracing of a sloping part of the site to create a formal potager; replacement of a Victorian greenhouse. So far we have cleared many large conifers from the site and are in the planning stages for the greenhouse and landscaping.
