About Old Channel Hill Farmhouse
The property is on the edge of Damerham on the road to Martin and is surrounded by fields, it is a wildlife friendly garden with bird boxes and feeders and a hedgehog house.
Each area is generously planted for all year round interest. Small productive vegetable garden and potting shed/greenhouse. There is a an old thatch summerhouse and in front a paved seating area and large terracotta pot water feature. Lots of pots many containing large acers. The ancient cob and thatch privy is situated in the small wild flower area which leads to the stumpery, with a feature carved wooden mushroom amongst other old timber beams that were rescued from the cottage in the early 1980’s following a fire.
A photograph of the old cob and thatched privy is in a book called Hampshire Privies by Ian Fox, published in 1997
The current owners have been at the property 28 years and during this time created the garden.
