Shepherds House

This ¾ acre country garden around a Georgian house (not open) is on ground rising to open fields. Mixed borders and terracing around the house give way to lawns and herbaceous borders leading to an orchard and kitchen garden. The belvedere at the top of the garden overlooks an informal pond with views over the village and surrounding Hampshire countryside.

About Shepherds House

Over the last 17 years, Kim and Frances have developed the garden of Shepherds House to take advantage of its hillside position. A formal front garden leads to terraces, fountain and vine-covered pergola around the house, surrounded by lawns and herbaceous borders, planted to provide colour throughout the year. Behind the encircling hedges, a kitchen garden and greenhouse adjoin the small orchard. At the top of the garden, the belvedere overlooks a large informal pond, with distant views over the village. There are plenty of seats throughout the garden where you can pause to enjoy the colours and scents of the season.
