Four gardens will open this yr in Stockbridge, offering a variety of styles and character. Trout Cottage is a small walled garden, inspiring those with small spaces and little time to achieve tranquillity and beauty. Full of approx 180 plants flowering for almost 10 months of the yr. The Old Rectory has a partially walled garden with formal pond, fountain and planting near the house (not open) with a stream-side walk under trees, many climbing and shrub roses and a woodland area. Shepherds House on Winton Hill with herbaceous borders, a kitchen garden and a belvedere overlooking the pond. New this year, Fishmore House is a 6 yr old garden on a ¾ acre plot. The key elements of design being planting, water and a borrowed landscape. Designed for accessibility incorporating bound gravel paths and no steps. Surrounded by the River Test with seating available to enjoy the views and large, sweeping herbaceous borders.
