About Stonyford Cottage
In a sheltered valley on the edge of the Delamere Forest, Stonyford Cottage Gardens is an oasis of tranquility. Low hills, meandering streams, mature trees and planted areas are centred around a calm pond – one of the reasons why visitors are reminded of landscapes by impressionist Claude Monet. The gardens are approached by crossing two bridges, leading to a wooded island where plant enthusiasts will find iris, primula and rare trees and shrubs. Woodland paths lead through shady areas and bog plantings, along boarded walks, with a bird hide and across wild natural areas. The views across the pool to the cottage gardens are magical. Unusual plants available at the adjacent nursery. Light lunches and homemade cake are served in the garden tea room.
