Talisman Square Community Garden

The Talisman Project which incorporates Kenilworth Arts Festival, Bee Friendly Kenilworth, Kenilworth Horticultural Society and local trader Kenilworth Books, has been in place for the past 4 years working on ‘greening up’ Talisman Square, a privately owned public car park in the Centre of Kenilworth. We have worked with funding from Kenilworth Town Council, donations from the Square’s owner Discovery Properties and fundraising by local residents and community groups, to improve the space. These community collaborations have allowed us to hang artwork, establish a Living Wall, commission Butterfly Graffiti Art and engage with local schools and scouts to create murals and bug houses. Planting, watering and development of the garden is carried out by a group of committed volunteers, who have also installed benches, raised beds and a tactile fence. The Talisman Project is part of the festival’s commitment to the environment and contributes to making positive change within our community.
