About The Court House

The garden enjoys a beautiful setting against the backdrop of All Saints church and steeply rising chalk downland. Its structure was established 100 years ago when the property was restored and the gardens laid out. It has been developed and extended in more recent years by introducing new routes of access to the different parts, more varied planting and several early-summer wild-flower areas. The formal sections feature well-established herbaceous borders with salvias, dahlias, clematis, eucomis, roscoea and other more unusual plants. Steps take you to lower levels where the planting becomes progressively less formal with distance from the house. A 1-acre vineyard was planted in 2006 for the production of sparkling wine.

Coaches will require a drop off and collect arrangement.
