The Hoe

This Grade II listed C16 thatched cottage (not open) nestles within a small informal garden. Long borders with perennials, shrubs and herbs jostle together with rose pillars and rope framing the front garden, which also has chickens and a self-built shepherd's hut. The back garden has a brick patio with a C16 well, formal pond, David Austin rose garden with an arbour, a potting shed, and a greenhouse.

About The Hoe

Grade II listed timber framed thatched cottage sits at the end of a sweeping gravel drive with fairy tale roundabout. The front garden is laid to lawn and long borders of year round interest, the shepherds hut and fir tree offer shelter whilst extensive seating offers a place to rest. Here you will find the normally free ranging chickens in their run with a matching thatched cottage hen house, we kindly ask to keep dogs at a distance from the chickens.

Through side gates the back garden is made up of gravel pathways, brick patio with ample seating and a 16th century well. The lawn is up two steps and here you will find the formal pond and fish, the formal David Austin rose garden with an arbour at its centre and views over the back paddocks. Explore the potting shed with plant sales area, and the greenhouse. On display will be a vintage best in show winning VW camper van.
