The Paddocks

A garden started from scratch by an amateur gardener with a passion for succulents and creating homes for wildlife. The garden developed over the years to the needs of the family. It contains a variety of specimens in seasonal pots and containers. The modern greenhouse is full of unusual specimens of echeveria, aeoniums and cacti. Two small ponds provide habitats for frogs and newts.

About The Paddocks

Trees and shrubs with nest boxes encourage nesting birds. Mixed borders provide colour and interest. The garden has developed over time, to have different views and aspects. It was never planned, just grew. Unusual artefacts are used to add texture to the garden. The owner has other interests and two boisterous Labradors, and the plants have to earn their keep, with as little maintenance as possible. Many mistakes are made, forever on a learning curve, but the garden gives great pleasure, all the same!
