The White House

Sitting high on a hill with 180 degree panoramic views, overlooking the downs for 25 miles in an area of ANOB. Owned by the present owners family for over 100 yrs. Main garden has been redesigned to incorporate the borrowed landscape with herbaceous borders in a cottage garden style. The walled kitchen garden, featuring moongates, has been restored, containing a fruit cage, espalier trees, and raised vegetable beds.

About The White House

The original house was a built by the present owners Grandfather, Sir Rupert De La Bere MP Lord Mayor of London 1953 (Coronation year) as a work mans cottage in the 30s, but has been extended throughout the years. (Not open). Sloping south facing garden with large lawn. The main garden borders are well stocked with shrubs, roses, perennials and annuals and has been created in a cottage garden style and extended with many plants grown from seed. The walled garden has been refurbished with new gravel paths, espalier fruit trees, fruit cage, summer house and raised vegetable beds. Original brick gazebo. Calm and tranquil. Unsuitable for wheelchairs. Home made teas (cash only). Home grown plants for sale (cash only).
