About Turton Tower Kitchen Garden
The garden is set in the historic Turton Tower grounds and was originally the kitchen garden in Victorian times. A group of enthusiastic volunteers began to restore the heavily overgrown ⅔ of an acre garden in 2008. Over the years the volunteers have created a tranquil and much visited garden. The garden today consists of raised vegetable beds and soft fruit areas but most of the garden is divided into smaller feature gardens. Turton Tower's history is reflected in its Tudor and Victorian beds. More contemporary gardens inc The White Garden and Japanese Garden. There are also two long herbaceous borders with a large variety of perennials. An area of the garden is shaded and we have an interesting variety of ferns and shade loving plants in our stumperies. Plants, cards and jam will be for sale.
