About Walbury

The garden interest begins in March with snowdrops and hellebores. Daffodils and other spring bulbs follow. In late April tulips light up the garden and honesty is used to good effect supported by other perennials. In early summer there are many different hardy geraniums, peonies, oriental poppies alliums and Siberian irises. David Austin roses form the backbone for mid-summer with other climbing roses and clematis. Later on in summer phlox begin to flower with many hardy members of the daisy family. Emphasis throughout the year is given to contrasting foliage plants. and a fern border. We also enjoy growing a selection of annuals particularly for containers round the house. There is a new area encouraging wild flowers and insect life.
