About Yew Tree Cottage
Garden developed over the last 27 years to complement a Victorian cottage in a very rural location. Half an acre which is split between the vegetable garden, greenhouses, the pond and the flower garden which is framed by clipped yew hedges. Planted for all year interest starting with snowdrops then Meconopsis, Lillium, Dierama, Crocosmia, to Hydrangea. National Collection for Dierama species featured on BBC Gardeners World flowering at their best in first half July. Many different plants as you would expect from members of the Hardy Plant Society. Some interesting shrubs and trees are being added and are just getting established.
Oak conservatory and vinery area giving the visitor a chance to get out of the English rain if necessary! Visitor feedback on our teas is excellent so don’t forget to build in enough time to try the cakes.
