Yew Tree Lodge is flanked by mature oak trees and well established gardens, its main axis being north south. It is divided into separate areas which take into account available natural light and soil type. I have been gardening here for over 10 yrs, during this time the garden has altered a great deal. As well as flowering plants there is a vegetable garden, fruit cages and a cool greenhouse.

Despite an extraordinary summer which came hand in hand with hose pipe bans – the garden Yew Tree Lodge has done remarkably well this year and once again, I think it is all down to Succession Planting.
Working with hardy and tender perennials, unusual annuals and very little digging, plenty of good garden compost the permanent planting and temporary visitors, have never looked better. Hard work but well worth the effort.
