About 100 Hampstead Way
This garden, in the corner of an Arts and Crafts square, is intended to be viewed with number 92 in the opposite corner. On the day of viewing refreshments (and possibly plants sales and craft stalls) will be available in the square. Visitors will be given a tour of each garden. The layout of the garden at number 100 changes from time to time. For example, in mid summer the lawn is divided into “two rooms”. Each contains unmowed circles, three in all, with different types of meadow flowers, bulbs or grasses. The garden “rooms” include: stumpery, palm area, formal French parterre, shady sitting area, long rose pergola, orchard and play area. The tour will highlight the way in which scrap objects have been used, eg various sinks for small pond, herbs and alpines, wine boxes and metal dustbins as planters, palettes for planting and composting and metal piping for succulents. There are two statues and various stones found on skips used for a fountain and for birdbaths.
