11 Mill Lane

Three distinct garden areas give opportunities for further evolution as well as consistency. Evolution means understanding the changing world, in particular how we think about the environment. The ratio of ‘wild’ to ‘tidy’ is shifting but, we hope, always in an attractive way.

About 11 Mill Lane

As we said last year, plus ça change, plus ça reste le même! Yet more areas have evolved in the last year; some on a whim but all to (unexpectedly?) great effect. Nature teaches us all the time but a little eccentricity brings a lot to the party.

The front lawn presents quite a surprise compared with previous years … ‘nuff said!

Nevertheless, the contrast between front and rear gardens remains inevitable. The front is wide open to the passing public – which we love – and so it’s more by way of a living painting to be viewed rather a space for our own use. On the other hand, the rear garden – a secluded and surprisingly peaceful area given its village-centre location – is ripe for experimentation and, yes, eccentricity.
