About 111 Main Street
A surprisingly extensive garden, formerly part of a burgage, is to be found at the rear of this stone cottage. Approached by slate steps from a courtyard with water feature and a collection of Bonsai, leading onto a terrace with iron gazebo, planted with roses, clematis & wisteria. A series of garden rooms takes you through formal box and yew hedging & topiary with herbaceous planting, into looser ornamental grasses and perennials. Beyond the cloud hedge, is an intimate Japanese enclosed area, a productive vegetable plot and greenhouse. More steps elevates one to a large oak gazebo with views to the hills. Head back down through stilted hornbeam hedges and yew cones with curving grass path to a rill with soft blue and white planting. An intimate garden with vibrant planting and oak and metal arbour then leads in two directions through cleft oak gates to other areas including a guest garden for visitors to One Zero Nine Holiday Cottage.
