About 111 Main Street

A surprisingly extensive garden, formerly part of a burgage, is to be found at the rear of this stone cottage. Approached by slate steps from a courtyard with water feature and a collection of Bonsai, leading onto a terrace with iron gazebo, planted with roses, clematis & wisteria. A series of garden rooms takes you through formal box hedging & topiary with herbaceous planting, into looser ornamental grasses and perennials. Beyond the cloud hedge, is a productive vegetable plot and greenhouse. More steps elevates one to a large oak gazebo with views to the hills. Head back down through stilted hornbeam hedges and yew cones with curving grass path
to a rill with soft planting. An intimate garden with vibrant planting and oak and metal arbour then leads in two directions through cleft oak gates to other areas including a guest garden for visitors to One Zero Nine Holiday Cottage.
Featured on ITV ‘Love Your Garden’ and in lifestyle magazines. Shortlisted for English Garden NGS Nation’s Favourite Garden 2023.
